About the role
The Engineer Plant will engage with construction partners, subcontractors, in-house personnel, and key customer contacts including government and local agencies to coordinate and manage local engineering and construction efforts to successfully provide design upgrades and enhancements to the Outside and/or Inside Plant telephony network.Connecting you to great benefits

What you’ll do
- Receive field notes from field engineering personnel and planning hand offs from in-house or customer planning teams for new cable routes.
- Validate field notes and planning hand off for accuracy, provide engineering overlay and appropriate engineering and construction notes.
- As required, draft engineering and construction drawings in AutoCAD or customer Cad system to be used for construction and permitting.
- Work as part of a multi-faceted team consisting of engineering, construction, project management, and scheduling personnel, all with a common interest in delivering results to the customer.
- Update customer assignment databases as needed for work performed.
- Report and have accountability to Engineering leadership with frequent updates on project progress and risks.
What you’ll need
- Typically requires 3-5 years of progressive Plant Engineering experience.
- Knowledge of aerial and underground construction methods and engineering requirements.
- Strong understanding of the company.
- Advanced interpersonal skills; knowledgeable within the field of Plant Engineering.
- Strong experience with the principles and practices of fiber specific projects, network deployments and related fields.
- Bachelor's degree or advanced training in the field.
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a background check and company drug screening.
- Must be able to attend and pass all company required training as needed.
- May be required to work after hours on weekends or be on-call as work is needed.
- Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Must possess excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers.
Physical & Safety Requirements and the Working Environment:
- Duties outlined in this position will require the employee to stand, crouch, sit, bend, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low.
- The noise level in the work environment for this position is low to moderate.
- Employees performing these job functions may be required to frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds in a shift.
