Manufacturing Engineer - Plant
About the role
Join Trane Technologies as a Manufacturing Engineer in Noblesville! In this role, you will operate innovative engineered systems and develop, coordinate, and implement sustainable manufacturing production processes.
Responsibilities
- Provide timely resolution of manufacturing process and product design problems, including investigations, statistical studies, and corrective action planning.
- Create cost-effective and safe manufacturing processes, equipment, and tools to improve manufacturing operations.
- Design manufacturing flow lines, workstation layouts, and station controls that optimize efficiency, operating costs, and product quality.
- Uphold manufacturing standards including machine capability, process maps, set-ups, quality controls, tooling and fixture records, routings, and cycle times.
- Generate work instructions, job breakdowns, and standardized work to ensure quality at the source meets product and manufacturing specifications given local needs.
- Serve as a voice of the customer for input for new design development.
- Partner with on-site EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) to ensure all equipment meets safety regulations compliant with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration).
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes across fabrication and assembly operations.
- Design and optimize production line layouts, material flow, and facility utilization to improve throughput and efficiency.
- Lead lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives (TPM, VSM, Kaizen) to reduce waste and improve performance.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) including process development, validation, and transition to full-scale production.
- Own capital equipment lifecycle: specification, procurement, installation, and validation (IQ/OQ/PQ).
Requirements
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- PFMEA experience preferred.
- Able to accurately assess manufacturing issues related to process and design.
- Effective communication at multiple levels coupled with ability to build relationships.
- Growth mindset – desire to expand technical skillset.
- Results-driven to maintain accountability and customer-focus.
Qualifications
- Preferred Degree in Engineering or related technical disciplines.
- Candidates without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply; we prioritize practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with our leadership principles.

Pay
Annual Base Salary Range: $84,740.00 - $118,860.00
