DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
- Configure, manage, and maintain Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including security policies, NAT, routing, VPNs, and threat prevention features.
- Design, deploy, and support LAN/WAN environments using Cisco switches, including VLANs, trunking, and Layer 2/Layer 3 configurations.
- Implement and troubleshoot routing protocols, with a focus on BGP in enterprise or ISP-connected environments.
- Configure, monitor, and maintain IPsec tunnels, site-to-site VPNs, and remote access VPN solutions.
- Create and maintain detailed network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application, cloud, and security initiatives.
SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years in enterprise IT Network engineering.
- Excellent understanding of networking topologies and protocols - TCP/IPv4/IPv6, DNS, NAT, routing, EIGRP, BGP and network security principles.
- Excellent knowledge of wireless technologies 802.11a/b/g/n.
- Strong experience with Cisco switching (IOS / NX-OS), including VLANs and inter-VLAN routing.
- Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls (PAN-OS configuration and management).
- Experience implementing and supporting IPsec VPN tunnels and VPN connectivity.
- Experience using Ansible for network automation or infrastructure-as-code initiatives.
- Experience supporting hybrid or cloud-connected networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Ability to work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network and connectivity issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience mentoring others and cultivating technical breadth and depth on a team.
- Familiarity with high availability, redundancy, and failover designs.
