Engineer Net Systems Performance

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented RF Engineer III to join a dedicated RF Design support team covering the Big East region. This mid-to-senior level role focuses on executing project-based tasks, including site modifications and small cell projects.

About the Role

As an RF Engineer III, you will own tasks spanning the entire project lifecycle—from initial site review and design, through regulatory and cell build technical documentation, up to the final in-service phase. You will collaborate closely with Real Estate, Construction, Project Management (PM) teams, and other RF engineers to ensure successful, timely, and compliant project execution.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support end-to-end project execution for RF Design, focusing on modification and small cell projects.
• Lead the design and optimization of 5GHR (Tanglewood) networks, including performance analysis and troubleshooting.
• Monitor and analyze 5G mmW and C-Band network KPIs and key parameters to ensure high network reliability and capacity.
• Perform RF propagation model tuning to improve simulation accuracy across target markets.
• Utilize advanced data tools, including SQL scripting, VB Scripting, and Google Suite (Apps Script automation and sheet manipulation) to automate reporting and analyze network data.
• Review, interpret, and maintain critical regulatory and technical cell build documentation (including ZD/CDs).
• Act as a core engineering partner with Real Estate, Construction, PMs, and regional RF engineering teams to drive projects to completion.
• Conduct site reviews primarily remotely, with flexibility to travel for on-site field visits as needed.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in RF theory and 5GHR (Tanglewood) network design, optimization, and parameter adjustment.
• 5-7 years of experience in 5G mmW and C-Band network KPI and performance management.
• 3+ years of experience with network/cell build lifecycle processes, including proficiency in reading and interpreting ZD (Zoning Drawings) and CDs (Construction Drawings).
• Meticulous attention to detail in technical and regulatory documentation, with a high sense of urgency to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

• Some completed higher education is required; a 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field is highly preferred.
• Experience with model tuning, SQL scripting, VB Scripting, and advanced Google Suite capabilities (e.g., Apps Script creation) is desired.
• Direct experience with millimeter wave (mmW) spectrum is a plus.
• Recent experience operating within a Client's market and familiarity with Client-specific engineering and project systems (e.g., VZAtoll, Fuze SPM, RFDS, CQ) is advantageous.
• Knowledge of or residency in the Big East territory (e.g., Illinois, Ohio, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut) is beneficial.

Pay

The pay rate for this role is $85.00 - $88.95 per hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law.
