Engineer In Training, Transportation, Kansas

Primary Function

This entry-level full-time position located in the Ellsworth, Cheney or Salina, Kansas office will involve general civil engineering duties including geometric roadway and highway design, MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer CAD design and 3D modeling, stormwater modeling and analysis, grading and drainage design, traffic control design, and generation of engineering reports. The candidate will work under the direction of a senior team member and receive specific instruction for required tasks and project components. You will create design drawings and conduct basic engineering calculations on assigned portions of multiple projects.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Performs standard engineering computations or analysis.
• Affords assistance in the preparation or modification of plans, reports, specifications, and permits for projects.
• Affords assistance in the development of probable construction quantities and construction cost estimates for design projects.
• Geometric roadway design/modeling and traffic control design.
• Stormwater modeling and drainage design.
• CSM activities for specifically targeted clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or (similar engineering degree) or currently enrolled as a senior at an accredited university majoring in Civil Engineering.
• Previous engineering work experience not required, but a plus.
• High level of creativity, enthusiasm, and self-motivation.
• Valid driver's license and ability to be insured required.
