About the role
The Engineering Department in Tucson is seeking an Engineer In Training to join the Mining and Industrial (M&I) team. This position offers exposure and training in designing various water and wastewater projects.
Responsibilities
- Helping to create and develop written proposals.
- Assisting in the development of mining and industrial fluid conveyance and processing system designs.
- This includes designing dewatering, reclaimed water systems, process solutions, slurry systems, well fields, storm water controls, water treatment, and source water acquisition systems.
- Coordinating communication and the delivery of information between WestLand, our subcontractors, and our vendors with our clients.
- Learning how to initiate and develop relationships with current and future clients and vendors.
- Assisting senior staff with inspections, start-up, commissioning, data collection, and sampling.
- Must be willing to travel for short durations and work outside of the office environment.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree and/or a master's degree in a related engineering discipline.
- Must be registered, or be able to register, as an Engineer In Training (EIT).
- Previous experience in an engineering environment is preferred.
- Previous experience working with water distribution, storage, and supply engineering system designs preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with AutoCAD software preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook).

Pay
The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $79,000 annually.
