RESPEC seeks a Structural EIT (Engineer in Training) to join our Anchorage, AK or Fairbanks, AK office. This is an onsite/office-based position based. The Structural Engineer in Training (EIT)’s primary role will include structural analysis and design for facilities supporting new construction and rehabilitations/renovations in collaboration with a team of local architects, civil, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection engineers. Duties will include interpretation of building codes and standards, preparation of structural plans and details, and related construction observations for these structural projects. We do not accept unsolicited resumes from third-party recruiters.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Assist engineers in calculations.Support engineers in code review and research.Creating and reviewing sketches of design intent.Assist engineers in design and Construction Administration (CA)Participate in meetings and work collaboratively in a variety of work groups. Our ideal candidate will have the following:Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in civil engineering with structural coursework emphasis from an accredited institution.Minimum 2 years of experience of structural engineeringEngineer-in-Training, having passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) ExamSolid knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft TeamsComputer programming in MathcadAutoCAD and Revit experienceRISA, STAAD, SAP, Enercalc or similar Structural Analysis Software experienceExperience with review of structural construction drawingsAbility to read and interpret building codes, and regulationsExperience with preparing plans, specifications, and design calculationsCold region/Alaska experienceStrong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively work in a teamMust possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel.
