Engineer II - Civil & Structures
A DAY IN THE LIFE
As an Engineer II – Civil & Structures, you will play a key role in supporting the design and execution of utility-scale energy projects by ensuring civil and structural systems are engineered to meet project requirements, schedules, and quality standards. A typical day involves coordinating with external engineering firms, reviewing and issuing plans and specifications, performing engineering calculations, and providing technical guidance to support project development and execution. You'll work closely with project teams to identify and resolve design challenges, advocate for project needs, and help ensure designs are practical, constructible, and aligned with company objectives. In addition to technical responsibilities, you'll mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of engineering best practices while supporting the successful delivery of complex renewable energy and infrastructure projects.
Safety
Responsible for establishing safe engineering designs that compliment company, state, and federal safety regulations.
Quality
Perpetuates designs that satisfy the design life of the power plant by establishing compliance with local, state, and international building codes and company best practices. Engineer II must have a working knowledge of customary building and structural codes.
Cost-Effective
Responsible for managing designs that provide the most economical means to satisfy the design life of the power plant. Engineer II will collaborate across company departments, with outside vendors, suppliers, and technical firms to explore innovative ideas, methods, materials, equipment, software, and technologies that save cost, increase efficiency, promote safety, and provide strategic benefits.
Conduct, Leadership & Followership
Must be a team-oriented professional that adheres to the company’s cultural basics and the National Society of Professional Engineer’s code of conduct. Engineer II must be able to communicate in a clear and concise manner with multiple levels of technical and non-technical personnel.
Problem Solving
Must be an efficient problem solver by applying factual evidence and sustainable solutions that are safe, transparent, and documentable.
Multi-Dimensional
Shall efficiently operate at multiple levels of technical and non-technical fields; the Engineer II will be expected to engage in technical fields of structural steel, structural wood, crane rigging, structural reinforced concrete, foundations, soil and atmospheric corrosion, hydrology, geotechnical, surveying, grading, laser scanning, GPR studies.
Value driver loop
Responsible to provide project feedback to estimating teams to capture lessons learned.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, or mechanical engineering, or related field from an EBET accredited college required.
- Two years of progressive engineering and/or engineering supervisory experience in a related industry (i.e., heavy civil, industrial, utilities, power generation) required.
- Travel for procurement and project-based purposes (nationwide).
Position is estimated to require travel 33% of time, subject to fluctuations as needs dictate.

Pay Range
$83,109.00 - $120,508.00
Individual Compensation
Individual Compensation to be determined based on the applicant's applicable experience and qualifications balanced against internal equity.
