Engineer II - Autonomy

In this role you will develop software for autonomous mobile equipment in the agricultural and construction sector. You’ll thrive in a fast‑paced, agile team, using creativity to develop code for our machines from user interface to machine control and everything in between.

Responsibilities

• Design and validate algorithms and tools for sensor fusion.
• Innovate and improve subsystems for mapping, localization, and object tracking for mobile equipment.
• Support the application of perception and vehicle planning with multi‑body kinematics for Vermeer equipment.
• Develop data models and apply machine learning algorithms to analyze large data sets to identify patterns, trends, and market dynamics to help plan product development.
• Collaborate on the creation of complex algorithms or software architectures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in the field of Computer Science or other specialties such as Robotics, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Physics, or Math.
• Eight years of combined experience in Product Development and Autonomy.
• Software development skills in C++, Python, Matlab.
• Self‑driven, enthusiastic, motivated to solve exciting engineering problems.
• Proficient in machine learning and AI.
• Basic knowledge of mission planning and IoT connectivity for autonomy devices.
• Working knowledge of vehicle autonomy.
• Occasional travel is expected.
• Work location: ONSITE – day‑to‑day work is best done on a Vermeer campus; offsite arrangements can be discussed with your manager.
