About the role
D468 USMS Engineering team is seeking an Entry Level Systems Engineer. The role involves maintaining and enhancing the current submarine fleet, which includes delivered ships in various classes such as OHIO, SSGN, SEAWOLF, and VIRGINIA. Responsibilities include managing potential design changes to commissioned ships, developing documentation for class/ship modernization, making recommendations for service life extension, and providing technical direction in support of emergent problems.
Responsibilities
- Managing potential design changes to commissioned ships
- Developing documentation for class/ship modernization
- Making recommendations for service life extension
- Providing technical guidance via liaison action requests (LAR), reverse liaison action requests (RLAR), and vendor information requests (VIRs)
- Drawing reviews and development of supporting engineering calculations to support ship alterations (ShipAlts)
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering
- 0-1 years of post-graduate engineering experience
- Able to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the Department of Defense
Preferred Knowledge
- Experience with DSS-SOC systems and requirements
