Engineer I - Quality - Westminster CO

About the Role

The Engineer I position will perform quality assurance tasks in the Tactical Solutions business unit, supporting overall individual component to system level manufacturing, integration, and test for all phases, systems, programs, and/or products in the production facility. The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit enables efficient business and program execution through strategic capital investments, industrial operations, supply chain management, manufacturing, test operations, and facilities management.

This is an on-site role requiring regular in-person engagement five days per week at the primary work location in Westminster, Colorado. Local commute between company campuses and other non-company locations may be required.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team during all phases of the program lifecycle, supporting execution activities under guidance.
• Resolve routine quality issues, document findings, and contribute to reducing recurring issues.
• Participate in process improvement activities.
• Support Statistical Process Control (SPC) activities, including implementing and maintaining control charts and assisting programs with database creation and tool setup.
• Review First Article Inspections (FAI) to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in audits and assessments to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, business units, and the company.
• Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field (degree must be from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education).
• Each higher-level degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in and contribute to a cross-functional team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to learn aerospace and defense industry and government specifications and standards.
• Demonstrated ability to learn Quality Engineering (QE) principles, tools, methods, and standards.
• Willingness to take initiative, complete tasks in a timely manner, and strong time management and organizational skills.
• Must be willing and eligible for security clearance submission after an offer is accepted, depending on program requirements.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors, or remote research environment. May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required. May access other facilities in various weather conditions.

Pay

Full-Time Salary Range: $64,926 – $110,374. Individual salaries are determined by factors including business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
