About the role

Responsibilities
- Manages all the engineering aspects of projects of moderate scope or detailed phases of major project efforts
- Leads or conducts performance, cost, and scheduling studies of varying size that are generally conventional in nature
- Supports operational areas through the application of standard and non-standard engineering techniques, practices, and procedures
- Communicates engineering ideas, recommendations, and evaluations to diverse internal groups in a working or conference type environment
- Represents the company's interests in engineering matters that may be varied and complex in nature
- Applies engineering expertise to improve or develop new standards
- Provides technical direction and/or activity supervision to contractors and company personnel on a regular, on-going basis
Qualifications
- Minimum Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, plus 4+ years of engineering experience or 3+ years with a Fundamentals of Engineering certificate or 3+ years with a Master's Degree in Engineering
- Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations: Fundamentals of Engineering certificate preferred. Current, legally valid driver's license required.
Competencies
- Broad knowledge and proven ability to apply engineering principles, practices, and regulations to, and perform economic and decision analysis studies of issues in areas including, but not limited to, generation, transmission, distribution, system planning, financial and regulatory issues, asset utilization, and environmental controls and regulations
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply national, state, and local codes and standards (IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NESC, ACI, AISC, etc.)
- Ability to translate electrical theory and physics to utility application for improving system reliability
- Comfortable working in and around high voltage (up to 345kV) electrical facilities and equipment
- Demonstrated leadership skills, self-motivation, and interpersonal skills

Schedule
Time will be divided between office and field, with a majority of time in the office. Work will be around high voltage electricity facilities, computers, office equipment, and construction equipment.
