Engineer Full Time January 2027 - Multiple U.S. Locations

About the Role

As an Engineer at Cargill, you will be an integral part of our global team from day one, collaborating with colleagues and clients across diverse cultures and work styles. This role offers exposure to both technical and management aspects of engineering, enabling you to build skills and transition into various roles within Cargill’s diverse career trajectories. You will work in one of our many production facilities across the United States, leading teams and executing critical initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead production or maintenance employees, project teams, contractors, or technical operations teams in a production environment.
• Collaborate on critical initiatives and projects, gaining exposure to people management and technical aspects of engineering.
• Begin your career in roles such as:
  • Production Management Engineer: Supervise operators and production activities, participate in daily management meetings, and ensure compliance with government regulations and Cargill programs (environmental, health, safety, maintenance, and housekeeping). Responsibilities include hiring, scheduling, motivating teams, process optimization, equipment reliability, and leading capital projects.
  • Environmental Engineer: Oversee refrigeration, steam, water distribution, and compressed air systems, as well as large-scale Waste Water Treatment Plants (WWTP). Lead environmental compliance, regulatory permitting, and daily supervision of operators and technicians.
  • Process/Project Engineer: Develop business cases, manage vendor selection, budgets, and projects focused on process optimization, safety, quality, infrastructure, and energy use. Engage in innovation processes, reliability-centered design, and technical initiatives driven by global teams.
  • Maintenance and Reliability Engineer: Lead skilled tradespeople to optimize asset performance and uptime. Plan maintenance activities, capital projects, and process improvements using tools like Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 5S, and 5-Why.
• Work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, and hands-on environment with a focus on safety, employee engagement, inclusion, and innovation.
• Perform physical tasks in industrial/processing environments, including moderate exertion and exposure to conditions like heat, cold, and grain dust.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.
• Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in agricultural, biological systems, chemical, electrical, mechanical, industrial, mining, or other engineering discipline (to be completed between Summer 2026 – December 2026).
• Willing and able to relocate.
• Ability to work optimally with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
• Strong communication skills (written and oral).

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous plant, production, co-op, or intern experience.
• Overall GPA of 2.7 or higher.
• Ability to relate technical knowledge to job-related duties.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions independently.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and experience.

Pay

The expected salary for this position is $82,000. The disclosed salary has not been adjusted for geographic differentials associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
