Engineer Full Time May 2027 - Multiple U.S. Locations
About the role
As an Engineer at Cargill, you will be an integral part of the team from day one, building skills, knowledge, and attitudes to transition into various roles within the company. This role offers exposure to both technical and management aspects of engineering, allowing you to explore long-term career aspirations in a diverse and dynamic environment.
You will work in one of Cargill’s production facilities across the United States, leading teams in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. The role is designed to provide experience in people management and technical operations, with opportunities to collaborate with colleagues and clients from diverse backgrounds.
Responsibilities
- Lead production or maintenance employees, project teams, contractors, or technical operations teams executing critical initiatives in a production environment.
- Participate in daily production management, including supervision of operators and production activities, and compliance with government regulations and Cargill programs (environmental, health, safety, maintenance, and housekeeping).
- Develop teams of production employees, including hiring, scheduling, motivating, and handling employee relations.
- Engage in process optimization, equipment and process reliability, and capital project leadership.
- Potential career paths include:
- Production Management Engineers: Lead people, processes, and production activities in a plant environment, including direct supervision and participation in daily management meetings.
- Environmental Engineers: Oversee operations of refrigeration, steam, water distribution, and wastewater treatment systems, as well as environmental compliance and regulatory permitting.
- Process/Project Engineers: Develop business cases, manage budgets, and lead major projects focused on process optimization, safety, quality, infrastructure, and energy use.
- Maintenance and Reliability Engineers: Lead teams to optimize asset performance, uptime, and repair costs using tools like Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

Requirements
- Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.
- Pursuing or recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in agricultural, biological systems, chemical, electrical, mechanical, mining, or other engineering discipline (to be completed between December 2026 - Summer 2027).
- Willing and able to relocate to various U.S. locations (e.g., Wahpeton, ND; Fresno, CA; Fort Morgan, CO; Newnan, GA; Dodge City, KS; Schuyler, NE; Camp Hill, PA; Hazleton, PA; West Columbia, SC; Butler, WI; Monticello, MN; Blair, NE; Cedar Rapids, IA; Gainesville, GA; Sidney, OH; Fort Dodge, IA; Hammond, IN).
- Ability to work optimally with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Strong communication skills (written and oral).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous plant, production, co-op, or intern experience.
- Overall GPA of 2.7 or higher.
- Ability to relate technical knowledge to job-related duties.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions independently.

- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience.
Pay
The expected salary for this position is $82,000. The disclosed salary has not been adjusted for geographic differentials associated with the location where the position may be filled.
