Qualifications
Include:
- A Must have a B.S. degree in Engineering
- A Must have the ability to obtain a Professional Engineer's License
- A Must have working knowledge and experience in transmission construction and design
- A Must have experience with PLS-CADD and survey techniques
- A Must have knowledge of International Fuel Gas Code, NESC, NEC, and the DOT
- A Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple conflicting tasks and demands
- A Must have a good safety record
- A Must have First Aid/CPR Certification
- A Must have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
Duties
Include:
- Ensure oversight of guidelines, policies, practices, standards, and regulations relating to transmission designs
- Provide engineering design and support for transmission pole and airbrake switch replacement projects
- Supervise projects and oversee contract and company construction crews
- Perform computer related functions such as engineering analysis, drawing, spreadsheets, and database compilations
- Compile and write technical reports
- Respond to customers' needs by performing field investigations
- Survey and inspect routes
- Ensure that cost estimates meet company standards and current tariffs
- Absorb and assist to develop project-specific capital budgets
- Complete on-call after-hours duties, periodically, for one week at a time; this requires the individual to reside in the greater metro area; includes response to emergency situations and calling personnel out for after-hours activities
- Perform individual lifts and carry office supplies up to 35 pounds
- Absorb and ensure actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
