About the role
As a Hydraulic/Hydrostat Design Engineer for the John Deere Construction & Forestry division in Dubuque, IA, you will lead the continuous improvement of hydraulic and hydrostatic components and system designs for Crawler Dozers and Crawler Loaders.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects to improve cost, reliability, and quality of hydraulic/hydrostatic systems.
- Implement and document design changes.
- Perform warranty claim and root cause analysis.
- Assist assembly lines and customer support in troubleshooting issues.
- Collaborate with suppliers to develop new or improved components.
Requirements
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience working in a team environment.
- Engineering experience in fluid mechanics/hydraulics.
- Proficiency with 3D modeling tools (e.g., Pro/E, Solidworks, AutoCAD).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Skills
- Ability to read hydraulic schematics.
- Working knowledge of hydraulics/hydrostatic components/systems for mobile equipment.
- Off-road vehicle or hydraulic plumbing experience.
- Electrical and/or electronics experience.

Pay
$67,692.00 – $101,532.00 per year + benefits.
