Responsibilities

  • Create new products based on specifications and develop CNC programs accordingly.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team on new product developments and pricing.
  • Design and fabricate new jigs, fixtures, and gages for quality and manufacturing purposes.
  • Support Operations during new product launches and resolve manufacturing issues on the shop floor.
  • Follow up with planning and manufacturing to produce samples as needed, and support Customer Experience Support (CES) on special orders, paint consumption, and locker design requests.
  • Investigate production-related quality issues, prepare and manage reports (SCAR, ICAR) to document root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and recommend process/procedure modifications.
  • Approve in-process and finished production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating adjustments, and managing re-work.
  • Document inspection results by completing reports, logs, and summarizing re-work and waste; input data into the quality database.
  • Identify process automation and innovation opportunities; prepare Standard Work Instructions (SWI) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for quality and manufacturing.
  • Work closely with Production Manager and Supervisors to maximize production capacity.
  • Optimize equipment programming to improve capacity, throughput, and quality.
  • Assist with Non-Conformances (NCM), Quality Investigations, and Countermeasures.
  • Collaborate with maintenance to repair machines, including designing new components as needed.
  • Contribute to team effectiveness by sharing best practices, building relationships, and staying aware of emerging issues.
  • Help create, revise, improve, and administer quality policies and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Processes, and Policies.
  • Work with quality representatives from other locations to implement best practices and provide coverage when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Diploma in a related discipline.
  • Training and knowledge of Six Sigma techniques and Lean Manufacturing are desirable.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with vendors, customers, and internal departments.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and analytical thinker.
  • Proficiency in AlphaCAM/Mastercam.
  • Experience with AutoCAD/SolidWorks and 3D Modelling.
  • CNC experience is an asset.
  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills.
  • High proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Inventor.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong ability to analyze data, recognize trends, and implement data-driven improvements.
  • Strong leadership skills.

Working Environment

Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and noise, moderate exposure to chemicals. Requires the use of prescribed PPE (CSA Approved Safety boots, Safety glasses, hearing protection, and other department-specific PPE). Work involves fine motor skills, repetitive motion, standing, and/or lifting up to 50 lbs.
