What You’ll Do
- Lead the design of complete building automation systems, including detailed control drawings, wiring diagrams, equipment schedules, and sequences of operation.
- Create and deliver complete software packages, including graphics and validated databases, ready for field implementation.
- Provide technical leadership during submittal, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Conduct field verification for retrofit and complex systems, collecting detailed documentation and resolving on-site design questions.
- Work directly with Project Managers, field technicians, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless system integration and execution.
- Maintain and manage deviation logs, software watch lists, and documentation updates to ensure accuracy and traceability.
- Support and troubleshoot third-party system integrations and legacy system upgrades.
- Mentor less-experienced engineers and provide technical guidance across project teams.
What We’re Looking For
- Proficiency with building automation platforms (Tridium Niagara preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical integration, and control strategies.
- Prominent ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Working experience with CAD or Visio for control system documentation.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
- High level of initiative, accountability, and attention to detail.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Average or bachelor’s degree in engineering, HVAC technology, or related technical field (required).
- Minimum of 3–7 years of hands-on experience in building automation and control systems design and programming.
- Strong project management and documentation skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to job sites.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
