About the role
SAFY of South Carolina is seeking a full-time Engagement & Licensing Specialist to join our team in Greenville and surrounding areas. The primary responsibility of this role is to recruit, license, engage, and retain foster parents, aligning with annual goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement on-going recruitment activities to attract caring adults interested in becoming foster and/or respite parents.
- Follow-up with prospective adults interested in becoming foster parents using various methods including phone, email, face-to-face contact, and mail.
- Engage with prospective foster parents throughout the licensure process.
- Serve as a key liaison with the community and attend events, regular meetings, and community meetings.
- Coordinate and plan speaking engagements, exhibits, and special events.
- Identify and coordinate recruitment opportunities such as conferences, trainings, and community events.
- Manage the budget for recruitment activities.
- Monitor competitors' activities in foster parent recruitment and advertising.
- Perform home studies of prospective foster/adoptive parents and organize their pre-service training.
- Conduct training sessions and ensure compliance with SAFY policy and state regulations.
- Complete the licensing process for foster parents within 90 days.
- Timely data entry and case notes in the tracking system.
- Submit reports for corrective action as required.
- Recertify foster homes on a timely basis as specified in licensing regulations.
- Maintain positive working relationships with all levels of SAFY staff, clients, families, and vendors.
- Work flexible hours as needed, including evenings and weekends.
- Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to cultural differences.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or a human services field.
- Two years of relevant experience in client and/or community engagement.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written), including comfort with public speaking and group facilitation.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, tenacious, and driven to achieve goals.
- Proven team player with a willingness to support others.
- Resolution-focused, organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask.
- Ability to operate computers with Microsoft Office and other software.
- Able to maintain an acceptable driving record and have auto insurance coverage.
- Previous experience in child welfare.

- Targeted hiring range: $45,000.00 to $62,000.00
