About the role
The Engagement Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting the women served by Park Slope Shelter for Women. Reporting to the Director of Social Services, this position involves direct and non-direct interventions, crisis management, and community resource development.
Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with clients, staff, and funders.
- Provide direct interventions and non-direct interventions to support clients.
- Conduct one-on-one supervision with staff members to engage clients in employment and training programs.
- Develop workshop curriculum and community-based resources.
- Train staff on crisis prevention and de-escalation techniques.
- Ensure funding objectives and performance measures are met.
- Conduct field visits and organize program activities.
- Create and implement incentive systems to increase client participation.
- Plan and organize program activities to meet performance targets.
- Motivate and coach staff to improve performance.
- Manage client documentation and ensure accuracy.
- Lead and participate in administrative meetings.
- Prepare reports and provide orientation sessions.
- May conduct initial assessments and group facilitation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in fields such as Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or related areas, with a minimum of two years of relevant experience; Master’s Degree preferred.
- First Aid/CPR and overdose prevention certifications.
- Train the Trainer CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
- NYS Peer Specialist Certification within 90 days of hire.
- Bi-lingual proficiency is preferred.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness and mental health issues.
- Ability to develop and implement innovative solutions.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with data management and database systems.
- Knowledge of community resources and services.

Pay
$57,000 - $60,000 annually
Schedule
