About the Opportunity

The Engaged Online Course Coordinator supports the development and rigorous quality assurance of digital degree programs by managing a specialized initiative focused on enhancing online course design. This role works closely with faculty members, academic departments, and the central digital learning team to promote evidence-based pedagogical practices in online teaching, curriculum structure, and student assessment. The position contributes directly to expanding educational opportunities beyond the physical campus through robust, accessible, and deeply engaging online offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the operational lifecycle of the Engaged Online Course (EOC) Initiative, overseeing the associated peer review process from tracking to completion
  • Cook up and execute systematic EOC Reviews to evaluate online course quality, structural alignment, and accessibility using established institutional rubrics
  • Collaborate consultatively with faculty members and academic units to advocate for and promote high-quality, evidence-based online teaching and learning models
  • Partner with instructional designers and multimedia teams to provide actionable feedback on digital course layouts and user experiences
  • Support institutional strategic goals focused on expanding equitable access to distance education and online degree pathways
  • Facilitate workshops, create training documentation, and distribute best-practice resources regarding online course quality standards
  • Collect, track, and report on course review metrics to evaluate initiative impact and support continuous program enhancement

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Technology, Communications, or a related field; or equivalent practical professional experience
  • Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of progressive experience in online higher education program coordination, instructional support, or digital curriculum development
  • Solid foundational knowledge of online course design frameworks, digital learning theories, and quality benchmarks (such as Quality Matters or similar rubrics)
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively and build strong consensus with diverse academic stakeholders, including tenured faculty, researchers, and administrators
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with a demonstrated capacity to handle multiple course evaluations concurrently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional approach to delivering constructive design feedback
  • Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Higher Education Administration, or a closely related discipline, hands-on administrative experience navigating enterprise Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas, Blackboard, or Moodle, familiarity with digital accessibility compliance standards (such as WCAG 2.1 or Section 508 guidelines) in an educational context

Pay Range and Compensation Package
