About The Job
The Coordinator for Online Learning and Faculty Development provides strategic leadership and operational support for faculty excellence, pedagogical innovation, and online learning at the University of Minnesota Morris.
Key Responsibilities
Provide primary administrative and pedagogical support for the campus Learning Management System (Canvas) and integrated academic technologies (e.g., Kaltura, Zoom).
Lead the instructional design and development of online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced courses, ensuring alignment with accessibility standards and best practices in liberal arts online education.
Collaborate with IT, Libraries and Media Services to ensure faculty have seamless, reliable access to necessary teaching technologies and support structures.
Serve as a coordinator for UMN Morris online courses, including assisting students with registration, access and progress in the online courses.
Serve as the campus liaison to the UMN Center for Educational Innovation (CEI), advocating for UMM’s needs and translating system-level resources into local campus programming.
Coordinate, design, and assess ongoing faculty development programming, including the Thursday Afternoon Faculty Seminar (TAFS) series and dedicated campus Professional Development days.
Establish and facilitate faculty-driven pedagogical initiatives, such as Faculty Learning Communities (FLCs), teaching circles, and book clubs, focused on institutional priorities (e.g., gateway course success, inclusive teaching practices, and student retention).
Partner with the VCAA and academic leadership to provide data-informed pedagogical support for strategic campus initiatives.
Track national trends in higher education pedagogy, instructional design, and faculty support, advising the VCAA on strategic opportunities for the Morris campus, engage in initiatives when appropriate.
Qualifications
BA/BS plus at least four years of related experience in higher education, instructional design, faculty development, or a closely related field.
Minimum of three years of professional experience in higher education, with a preference for faculty development, instructional design, or online program management.
Advanced proficiency with Learning Management Systems and related educational technologies.
Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, accessibility, and inclusive teaching practices in a higher education setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in higher education or disciplinary field.
Demonstrated experience facilitating faculty development programming (e.g., workshops, learning communities) and collaborating effectively with higher education faculty.
Experience with Canvas LMS.
Pay And Benefits
Pay Range: $52,400.18 - $54,500; depending on education/qualifications/experience
