What You’ll Do
- Ensure proper planning, control, and execution of all work involving electrical hazards.
- Understand the complete scope of work and associated contract documents, specifications, and drawings.
- Execute and control Critical Planning Tools properly.
- Meet customer expectations for electrical safety through documentation, communication, attendance at meetings, and compliance measures.
- Identify and mitigate electrical exposures during work planning.
- Create hazard-risk assessments, including steps to eliminate hazards or control risks.
- Safely execute work requiring an Energized Electrical Work Permit.
- Maintain the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) program, including correct device accounting, documentation control, electrically safe working conditions, and regular audits.
- Communicate electrical hazards to all project stakeholders and affected employees.
- Train and assess employees working around electrical hazards for competency.
- Maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), grounds, and insulated goods programs.
- Verify the use of correct testing equipment.
- Report incidents involving electrical hazards.
- Experience in electrical construction.
- 5 years’ industry experience.
- NFPA 70E certification.
- Understanding of safe electrical equipment installation and various nominal voltages, equipment types, and AC/DC systems.
- Ability to read and create single line diagrams based on field conditions.
- Able to communicate effectively with all stakeholders and employees.
