Energy Engineer Co-Op
Responsibilities
- Act as an Energy Engineer Co-Op and help in every aspect of all different types of energy projects, including but not limited to:
- Utility Analytics: Assist with the input and analysis of historical utility bill information including but not limited to regression analysis, benchmarking, and calculating incremental utility rates by analyzing utility tariffs/riders.
- Implementation: assist the lead Energy Engineers and Project Developers with identifying and implementing cost-effective Energy Efficiency projects that pay for themselves through savings (e.g. Lighting, HVAC, Controls, VFD’s, etc.).
- Recovery Services: Help our clients recoup investments on past, current, and future Energy Efficiency projects (e.g. Utility Programs, PJM, EPACT, Federal, State, Local Grants, etc.).
- On-Site Generation: Help our clients design, own, and operate on-site generation systems (e.g. Cogeneration, CHP, WER, Solar, Wind, etc.).
- Energy Efficiency Consulting: Help our clients’ problem solve complex Energy Efficiency problems (e.g. Audits, Assessments, Measurement & Verification, Training, etc.).
Minimum Qualifications
- Working toward a bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical, electrical or energy engineering; or related field.
- Masters in Renewable Energy engineering is a plus.
- Experience working in the energy field: particularly with lighting, HVAC, controls, building envelope, etc.
Additional Qualifications
- Proven ability to gather, input, validate, and analyze quantitative data and information.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal, written, computer, technical communication and presentation skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and business relationships.
Pay
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $20.70 –$27.45/hr. (presented in good faith). In addition to base pay, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, and may be eligible for performance incentives, bonuses, commissions, or equity, depending on the role. Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location.
