About the role
The Energy Engineer will be part of the Corporate Measurement and Verification Team at ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP®. This role is hybrid with up to 75% travel to the DC/VA metro area, including overnight stays as needed.
Responsibilities
- Develop energy baselines and verify energy savings and annual M&V reporting
- Apply energy saving strategies and conduct statistical analysis
- Work in vertical markets such as Federal Government, State and Local Government, Healthcare, K-12 and Higher Education
- Proactively review and interpret utility bills and energy consumption to limit risk and enhance customer satisfaction
- Solve issues or escalate to senior M&V engineering members for review and resolution
- Manage tools and processes for timely and accurate data entry of utility bills and monitored consumption sources
- Communicate with both technical and non-technical customers internally and externally
- Understand FEMP and IPMVP concepts and principles
- Lead and support the development of customer baselines or benchmarks as needed
- Create high-quality performance reports conveying cost reduction analysis to clients
- Optionally hold certifications as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and/or Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other technical field, or 3+ years of relevant work experience
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication and business writing skills
Qualifications
- Experience in mechanical systems data collection and building systems operations
- Statistical analysis skills
Skills
- Knowledge of Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) and International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP)
