Energy Efficiency Consultant, C&I Active Demand Response (Hybrid Schedule)
About the role

As an Energy Efficiency Consultant, C&I Active Demand Response, you will help deliver innovative customer programs to reduce or shift demand during peak times to reduce infrastructure build out, help enable the integration of cleaner energy sources, and support the operation of a reliable electric grid.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading technical and operational aspects of C&I demand response, including demand response event coordination and scheduling.
- Promote awareness of demand management strategies and programs among commercial, industrial, and municipal customers; track customer leads and follow up.
- Manage and provide direction to contracted Distributed Energy Resource Management (DERMS) vendor(s) that support C&I program operations.
- Develop and lead ConnectedSolutions growth initiatives and pilots to reach new customer segments, test new C&I demand response strategies and deepen participation from existing participants.
- Apply knowledge to successfully advance departmental strategies and initiatives/projects.
- Train internal and external stakeholders on demand response program strategies, processes, and techniques.
- Serve as an Eversource subject matter expert on C&I demand response by representing Eversource in national conferences (e.g., PLMA, DistribuTECH), stakeholder events, and regulatory proceedings.
- Collaborate with Demand Response team members, stakeholders and teams throughout the Company to successfully advance Demand Response initiatives.
Qualifications
- Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- Prior experience with cloud-based software platforms, C&I curtailment strategies, connected devices (thermostats, electric vehicles, batteries), energy markets, distributed energy resource management systems (DERMS) and virtual power plants (VPPs).
- An understanding of building mechanical systems and computerized building control systems.
- Ability to grasp technical concepts, such as basic operation of the electrical grid, battery storage systems, digital/IT integrations (APIs), and data architecture/analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to explain technical concepts with appropriate level of detail for audience;
- Excellent problem-solving ability; takes appropriate steps with limited guidance.
- Takes the customer’s perspective and incorporates it into program design, delivery and communications.
- Basic understanding of basic financial principles and proficiency with PC desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, CoPilot).
- Education:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- Experience:
- Three (3) plus years of relevant experience in engineering, sales, product/program/project management, or energy efficiency/demand response.
- At least one (1) plus years of experience delivering demand response programs or working with building management systems and controls, highly desired.
Compensation and Benefits
Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. Salary is commensurate with your experience. This position is eligible for a potential incentive. The annual salary range for this position is: $96,460.00-$107,180.00.
Work-Life Balance
Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change, based on managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.
