Energy and R&D Tax Credit Senior Manager

Responsibilities
- Manage R&D projects with a focus on growing R&D tax credit engagements for Energy companies where expertise in seismic imaging technology, experimental drilling technology, experimental completion technology, unique drilling/fracking techniques, stage spacing for well completions, and experimental fluids and proppant formulas is essential.
- Manage Prevailing Wage & Apprenticeship (PWA) engagements for both large and small energy projects (solar, wind, hydrogen, battery storage, etc.).
- Manage Investment Tax Credit (ITC) and Production Tax Credit (PTC) studies, including performing tax technical analysis and drafting reports for our clients.
- Drive business development and sales growth by working with practice offices on existing clients and external opportunities coming through our business development team.
- Lead client service teams and multiple projects in a fast-paced and interactive team environment to meet and exceed client expectations.
- Perform tax technical analysis and quality review on tax credit studies and communicate tax technical issues to the broader team.
- Develop and execute project work plans and create appropriate quantitative and qualitative documentation to support project results.
- Show strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills, along with strong data management skills, including advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Alteryx.
- Mentor and develop staff and young professionals, including on-the-job technical training and coaching.
- Provide leadership insight to the existing leadership team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Engineering, or related degree required, Master of Science in Tax (MST) is a plus.
- At least 7+ years experience in public accounting; strong preference for Big 4 or large regional firm experience.
- Experience in the subject matter areas described above preferred.
- CPA, EA, or PE credential required.

Pay
$139,200.00 - $293,500.00 per year
Schedule
This role follows a hybrid work model for candidates located near a Crowe office. Candidates who are not within commuting distance of a Crowe office may be considered for a remote work arrangement, subject to business needs.
