Energy and R&D Tax Credit Senior Manager

Responsibilities
Manage R&D projects with a focus on expanding R&D tax credit engagements for energy companies, leveraging expertise in seismic imaging technology, experimental drilling technology, experimental completion technology, unique drilling/fracking techniques, stage spacing for well completions, and experimental fluids and proppant formulas.
Oversee Prevailing Wage & Apprenticeship (PWA) engagements for both large and small energy projects, including solar, wind, hydrogen, battery storage, and other renewable energy sources.
Lead Investment Tax Credit (ITC) and Production Tax Credit (PTC) studies, conducting tax technical analysis and preparing reports for clients.
Drive business development and sales growth by collaborating with practice offices and the business development team to secure new opportunities.
Manage client service teams and multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, ensuring client satisfaction and meeting project deadlines.
Perform tax technical analysis and quality reviews on tax credit studies, providing clear communication of complex tax issues to the broader team.
Lead client discussions with key stakeholders, including Tax Directors, General Contractors, and Project Managers, to understand and address their needs effectively.
Develop and implement project work plans, creating appropriate quantitative and qualitative documentation to support project outcomes.
Mentor and develop staff and young professionals, offering on-the-job technical training and coaching to foster professional growth.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Engineering, or a related field required. A Master of Science in Tax (MST) is preferred.
At least 7+ years of experience in public accounting, with a strong preference for Big 4 or large regional firm experience.
Experience in the areas of R&D tax credits and energy tax credits is highly desirable.
CPA, EA, or PE credential required.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $139,200.00 - $293,500.00 per year. This role follows a hybrid work model for candidates located near a Crowe office. Remote work arrangements may be considered for candidates not within commuting distance of a Crowe office, subject to business needs.
