Energy and R&D Tax Credit Senior Manager

Responsibilities
Manage R&D projects with a focus on growing R&D tax credit engagements for Energy companies where expertise in the following areas will help Crowe gain market share:
- Seismic imaging technology
- Experimental drilling technology
- Experimental completion technology
- Unique drilling/fracking techniques
- Stage spacing for well completions
- Experimental fluids and proppant formulas
Manage Energy Tax Credit projects:
- Managing Prevailing Wage & Apprenticeship (PWA) engagements for both large and small energy projects (solar, wind, hydrogen, battery storage, etc.)
- Managing Investment Tax Credit (ITC) and Production Tax Credit (PTC) studies.
- Performing tax technical analysis and drafting reports for our clients.
Drive business development and sales growth
Exhibit proven leadership and project management skills in managing client service teams and multiple projects in a fast-paced and interactive team environment to meet and exceed client expectations
Performing tax technical analysis and quality review on tax credit studies and communicating tax technical issues to the broader team
Deep understanding of IRC Sections 45 and 48 and related regulations and guidance
Effectively lead client discussions with multiple stakeholders including Tax Directors, General Contractors, Project Managers, etc.
Develop and execute project work plans
Develop appropriate quantitative and qualitative documentation to support project results
Strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
Strong data management skills, including advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Alteryx
Strong mentoring and coaching skills, including on the job technical training and coaching
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Engineering, or related degree required, Master of Science in Tax (MST) is a plus.
- At least 7+ years experience in public accounting; strong preference for Big 4 or large regional firm experience.
- Experience in the subject matter areas described above preferred.
- CPA, EA, or PE credential required.

This role follows a hybrid work model for candidates located near a Crowe office. Candidates who are not within commuting distance of a Crowe office may be considered for a remote work arrangement, subject to business needs.
Pay
A reasonable estimate of the current range is $139,200.00 - $293,500.00 per year.
