Responsibilities

  • Manage R&D projects with a focus on growing R&D tax credit engagements for Energy companies where expertise in the following areas will help Crowe gain market share:

    • Seismic imaging technology
    • Experimental drilling technology
    • Experimental completion technology
    • Unique drilling/fracking techniques
    • Stage spacing for well completions
    • Experimental fluids and proppant formulas
  • Manage Energy Tax Credit projects:

    • Managing Prevailing Wage & Apprenticeship (PWA) engagements for both large and small energy projects (solar, wind, hydrogen, battery storage, etc.)
    • Managing Investment Tax Credit (ITC) and Production Tax Credit (PTC) studies.
    • Performing tax technical analysis and drafting reports for our clients.
  • Drive business development and sales growth

  • Exhibit proven leadership and project management skills in managing client service teams and multiple projects in a fast-paced and interactive team environment to meet and exceed client expectations

  • Performing tax technical analysis and quality review on tax credit studies and communicating tax technical issues to the broader team

  • Deep understanding of IRC Sections 45 and 48 and related regulations and guidance

  • Effectively lead client discussions with multiple stakeholders including Tax Directors, General Contractors, Project Managers, etc.

  • Develop and execute project work plans

  • Develop appropriate quantitative and qualitative documentation to support project results

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills

  • Strong data management skills, including advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Alteryx

  • Strong mentoring and coaching skills, including on the job technical training and coaching

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Engineering, or related degree required, Master of Science in Tax (MST) is a plus.
  • At least 7+ years experience in public accounting; strong preference for Big 4 or large regional firm experience.
  • Experience in the subject matter areas described above preferred.
  • CPA, EA, or PE credential required.

Schedule

This role follows a hybrid work model for candidates located near a Crowe office. Candidates who are not within commuting distance of a Crowe office may be considered for a remote work arrangement, subject to business needs.

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $139,200.00 - $293,500.00 per year.
