About the role

The Energy and Minerals Support Member at Aransas National Wildlife Refuge is responsible for providing technical support in the areas of energy and minerals management. This includes coordinating with external agencies, conducting environmental assessments, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with external agencies to ensure compliance with federal regulations regarding energy and mineral activities.
  • Conduct environmental assessments to evaluate potential impacts of energy and mineral projects on wildlife and habitat.
  • Prepare and submit documentation required for permits and approvals.
  • Provide technical assistance to staff and contractors on energy and mineral issues.
  • Monitor and report on the status of energy and mineral projects within the refuge.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as natural resources, environmental science, or a related discipline.
  • At least two years of progressively responsible experience in energy and minerals management or a closely related field.
  • Knowledge of federal environmental laws and regulations applicable to energy and mineral activities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • Experience with GIS software and data analysis tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines.

Pay

  • $45,000 - $55,000 annually.

Schedule

  • Full-time position.
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
