About the role
Texas State University seeks to hire a dynamic and innovative scholar with an exceptionally strong research record supported by external funding. The successful candidate will join the department(s) appropriate to their area of scholarly focus and will be nationally recognized in their field.
Responsibilities
- Seek external funding and coordinate interdisciplinary grants with both internal and external collaborators.
- Conduct and publish original research on Digital Humanities.
- Lead interdisciplinary collaboration with faculty across the university.
- Develop and maintain an active research agenda.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses on Digital Humanities and related subjects.
- Mentor and advise students.
- Contribute to the development of the Digital Humanities curriculum.
- Participate in service activities at the department, college, and university levels.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in a relevant field, an exceptional research record, and a proven ability to secure external funding. They should also demonstrate a commitment to teaching and mentoring students, and a willingness to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Digital Humanities and related fields, with a demonstrated ability to contribute to the academic community through research and teaching. They should also have experience working collaboratively with colleagues from diverse disciplines.
Skills
Strong skills in digital humanities methodologies, including data visualization, corpus analysis, natural language processing, and critical digital studies are essential. Proficiency in digital tools and platforms is also required.
