Endoscopy Technician/UKHC

About the role

This position assists the physician (gastroenterologist, pulmonologist, and/or surgeon) in general and advanced endoscopy procedures with a high degree of efficiency. Responsibilities include positioning and transporting patients, preparing procedural rooms using clean and aseptic techniques, maintaining supplies and materials, actively participating in work unit goals, and demonstrating excellent customer service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of Endoscopy Technician training program within 6 months of hire
• No prior experience required (1-2 years of related experience preferred)
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 pounds daily
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods
• Must be able to work 36 hours/week with call, nights, weekends, and holidays as required

• Proficiency in basic and advanced endoscopy procedures
• Direct patient care experience
• Excellent attention to detail
• Exceptional planning and organizational skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to solve routine problems and manage resources
• Experience with materials/resource management

Physical Requirements

• Lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 pounds on a daily basis
• Stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time
• Potential exposure to communicable diseases and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments

Pay

$21.69–$27.31/hour

Schedule

36 hours/week, including call, nights, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs
