Endoscopy Technician Specialist

About the role

The Endoscopy Technical Specialist is responsible for performing delegated activities related to patient care and overall team support in the GI procedure room setting. Under the supervision of a physician or nurse, they will assist with direct patient care during procedures and assist the physicians with necessary equipment used during all procedure types.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with direct patient care during procedures
  • Auxiliary duties in the recovery room, supply stocking, and endoscope reprocessing room
  • Rotate between Burnsville and St. Louis Park locations, and may be assigned to the Maple Grove location as needed
  • Support end-of-day coverage and closing responsibilities
  • Weekend on-call coverage is required and assigned on a rotating basis

Requirements

  • One year of healthcare experience
  • Licensure/Registration/Certification: Completion of the SGNA GI Associates Program to be recognized as a GI Technical Specialist (GTS) within 1 month of hire. Current BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines within 2 weeks of hire.

Qualifications

  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination: One year of healthcare experience
  • Licensure/Registration/ Certification: Completion of the SGNA GI Associates Program to be recognized as a GI Technical Specialist (GTS) within 1 month of hire. Current BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines within 2 weeks of hire.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Good verbal communication skills. Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients. Human relations skills to work as part of a team.
