Endoscopy Technician

About the role

The Endoscopy Technician is responsible for case preparation, assisting with patient preparation, proper handling of instruments, supplies and equipment, preparation of the room based upon the specific procedure and physician's preference, and anticipating the physician's needs.

Responsibilities

• Case preparation, setting up procedure rooms
• Cleaning and routine care and maintenance of endoscopes and equipment
• Proper handling of instruments
• Assisting physicians while performing endoscopic procedures while anticipating the physicians’ needs
• Specimen processing
• Assist nurses in pre and post patient calls
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Two (2) plus years as Surgical or Endoscopy Technician who is professional, pleasant, flexible, and a motivated team player
• Graduate of accredited surgical technician program (a plus)
• Experience in a GI or Multi-specialty medical environment
• Working knowledge and proficiency in the use of medical terminology
• Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional medical office environment, utilizing standard office equipment.

Physical Demands

The physical demands include standing, walking, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.

Schedule

This is a full-time position, with an 8-hour shift Monday through Friday. No weekends are required.
