Responsibilities
- Affords patient care during pre, intra, and post-procedure phases, including specimen handling.
- Processes and requests provider orders to RN.
- Provides psychological and social support for patients and families.
- Transports patients to and from the unit as well as during discharge.
- Completes thorough observations and updates when necessary, communicating changes to RN.
- Documents interventions and patient responses, along with any changes in patient condition on CIS.
- Communicates and documents patient/family needs, and makes appropriate referrals to RN.
- Manages equipment and supplies, demonstrating knowledge in their use and managing equipment troubleshooting and repairs.
- Maintains inventory of all supplies.
- Reports safety-related incidents promptly and attends all relevant training programs.
- Performs work in a safe manner, monitors the work environment for safety issues, and ensures others are also performing work safely.
- Adheres to regulatory and organizational standards, hospital policies, and departmental procedures.
- Practices in a safe and cost-effective manner, staying current with relevant regulations and policies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- BLS (American Heart Association) certification - Required upon hire.
- SGNA Certification - Preferred.
