Endoscopy Technician

Responsibilities

• Affords patient care during pre, intra, and post-procedure phases, including specimen handling.
• Processes and requests provider orders to RN.
• Provides psychological and social support for patients and families.
• Transports patients to and from the unit as well as during discharge.
• Completes thorough observations and updates when necessary, communicating changes to RN.
• Documents interventions and patient responses, along with any changes in patient condition on CIS.
• Communicates and documents patient/family needs, and makes appropriate referrals to RN.
• Manages equipment and supplies, demonstrating knowledge in their use and managing equipment troubleshooting and repairs.
• Maintains inventory of all supplies.
• Reports safety-related incidents promptly and attends all relevant training programs.
• Performs work in a safe manner, monitors the work environment for safety issues, and ensures others are also performing work safely.
• Adheres to regulatory and organizational standards, hospital policies, and departmental procedures.
• Practices in a safe and cost-effective manner, staying current with relevant regulations and policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• BLS (American Heart Association) certification - Required upon hire.
• SGNA Certification - Preferred.
