About the Role

The Endoscopy Technician I is responsible for the care and maintenance of endoscopes and accessory equipment used in medical procedures, adhering to infection control guidelines, hospital policies, and manufacturer recommendations. Tasks are performed independently and under the supervision of licensed staff.

Schedule

Full Time, 7:00am–4:00pm

Responsibilities

  • Assess, project, and plan for procedural needs.
  • Perform routine duties in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and team members.
  • Support and practice in accordance with hospital policy, procedures, and protocol.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of infection control principles.
  • Complete six (6) hours of hospital-provided continuing education upon hire and annually for Advanced Sterile Processing Certification. Education will focus on standards of practice in instrument decontamination, transportation, and reprocessing.

  • Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak, and hear.
  • Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. Use an assisted-lift device or assistance from another individual(s) for lifts exceeding these limits.
