About the role

This full-time lead position offers a great work/life balance with no weekends or evenings—Monday through Friday only. The role provides opportunities for advancement within a rapidly growing team and competitive compensation.

Responsibilities

  • Provides a safe environment for patients to prevent potential injury; investigates and intervenes in problem situations, reporting to the Nurse Manager and documenting information.
  • Evaluates and completes patient needs assessments to provide supportive care before, during, and after procedures; maintains accurate and complete endoscopy records.
  • Maintains equipment and supplies: cleans and disinfects endoscopy equipment, operates and troubleshoots endoscopy and patient monitoring equipment, anticipates and assists with maintaining adequate inventory of supplies and medications, and handles equipment safely.
  • Functions within legal limits of technical practice; recognizes limitations and reports situations beyond ability or function to the proper person.
  • Reports errors of commission or omission and participates in QI, Materials Management, Safety, and Infection Control programs.
  • Communicates pertinent information to co-workers and accepts direction from supervisors or physicians while adhering to established routines.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned by management; not responsible for drug administration, IV procedures, or other therapeutic/diagnostic measures within nursing practice.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1+ years of previous GI experience preferred.
  • Associate’s Degree or medical assisting and/or prior technician experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED (required minimum education).
  • BLS (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers) certification obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Commitment to building strong working relationships with providers and the healthcare team.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a same-day surgery environment.
