Endoscopy Nurse
About the Role
As a Registered Endoscopy Nurse at Blue River Surgery Center, you will contribute to the company’s mission and vision by utilizing the nursing process in planning, executing, and evaluating the nursing care given to surgical and GI patients during the intra-operative period. You will plan and deliver safe, effective nursing care until the patient is transferred to recovery. You will also perform duties of the circulating or scrub role in caring for patients of all ages.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate knowledge of surgical and GI procedures and oversee the instrument and equipment set-up
- Coordinate and oversee the room during a case as the circulator
- Facilitate effective and efficient transitions between procedures
- Utilize and update preference cards as necessary
Requirements
- Nursing Diploma
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operating room setting; preferably in an ambulatory surgery center
- RN license required or appropriate compact licensure
- Valid BCLS Certification upon employment (online certification not acceptable)
- ACLS as required by facility
- CNOR / SGNA certification preferred

About the Facility
Blue River Surgery Center is the newest member of the Surgery Ventures Group powered by HCA Healthcare, opening in early 2024. This state-of-the-art facility will include five operating rooms and two specialty procedures rooms. The center will specialize in orthopedics, GI, podiatry, general, and vascular surgery and will be staffed by a skilled team of registered nurses and OR techs. The Center is located in South Kansas City near I-435 and Holmes.
