About the role
Assists the physician in the performance of endoscopic procedures.
Responsibilities
- Maintains supplies and equipment in the Endoscopy Department in proper working order.
- Cleans and disinfects equipment according to unit and hospital policy.
- Provides appropriate patient care to the Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy patient under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
- Performs clerical duties as necessary to assure optimal function of Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy.
- Assembles and maintains patient chart material, maintains records and files, maintains order, cleanliness of the workstation.
- Completes charges for patients.
Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
- Graduate of GI/OR Technology program Preferred
- Graduate of CNA/MA program Preferred
- No experience required
- Previous experience as Unit Secretary or as CNA/MA Preferred
- Previous experience in Endoscopy Preferred
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Current AHA BLS Certification Upon Hire Required
