About the role
Provides technical support for laptops, PCs, mobile devices, printers and peripherals to restore service and deliver solutions to meet user requirements for all employees of the City of Lubbock.
Responsibilities
- Reviews and prioritizes user requests for service and support; schedules work;
- Installs and tests computers and equipment, peripherals and software;
- Installs, repairs, and troubleshoots PC's, Printers, Electronic Technology peripherals as dictated by everyday business needs;
- Solves help desk issues for users;
- Evaluates new hardware and software to determine functionality and compatibility with existing configurations.
Qualifications
- Completion of a bachelor degree in management information systems, computer science, or a related field.
- Related experience may substitute for education requirement on a year-to-year basis.
- No specific experience required.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently bend and kneel during the shift.
- Frequently push and pull objects.
- Frequently flex upper trunk forward at the waist and partially at the knees.
- Frequently rotate upper trunk to the left or right while sitting or standing.
- Place arms above, at, and below shoulder height.
