What You Will Do
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for end users in an Enterprise IT environment, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Aid with the configuration, management, and maintenance of end-user devices and applications within Linux and Microsoft environments.
- Support and utilize COTS software tools like MECM, BMC FootPrints, and other tools to manage end-user systems and resolve incidents.
- Perform system administration tasks such as user account management, password resets, permissions, certificates, and group policy updates.
- Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting virtual desktop environments using tools like VMware, ESXi, and VSphere.
- Provide support for monthly patch management to ensure end-user devices remain secure and up-to-date.
- Collaborate with team members to support software upgrades, tech refreshes, and system updates for end-user environments.
- Document technical support activities and maintain accurate records of incidents, service requests, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
- Deliver excellent customer service by effectively communicating with end users and resolving issues in a timely manner.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Must have IT experience working in an Enterprise IT environment.
- Must be able to work shift schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ or CISSP preferred) is required on day 1.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain SCI after start.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with Microsoft Windows & Server environment to include but not limited to Active Directory, DNS and Group policy, experience with Linux bash, and experience implementing computer security.
- Understanding of basic network engineering fundamentals, including: OSI layers, IP addressing, sub-netting, TCP/IP stack, VLANs, DHCP, etc.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and applications as required.
