End User Computing Specialist

About the role

The City of Saint Paul’s Office of Technology and Communications is seeking two End User Computing Specialists to provide frontline IT support for City employees. This customer-focused role supports hardware, software, and end-user technology while ensuring employees have the tools they need to work efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and resolve ServiceNow incidents and service requests.
• Provide Tier 1 technical support for hardware, software, operating systems, VPN, network connectivity, passwords, and peripherals.
• Configure, deploy, replace, and support laptops, desktops, tablets, smartphones, and related devices.
• Aid with IT asset management, including inventory tracking and equipment lifecycle.
• Support Microsoft 365, Teams, web browsers, and other enterprise applications.
• Follow IT security procedures, including multi-factor authentication and password support.
• Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions within the ticketing system.
• Escalate complex issues to specialized IT teams when necessary.

Qualifications

• Six months of technical school plus one year of technical/operations experience, or
• Two years of experience in a technical or IT operations environment.
• A valid Minnesota Class D driver’s license may be required.
• Strong customer service, troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
