About the Role
The Enamel Wire Operator uses machines to apply enamel insulation to wires according to manufacturer specifications and customer product orders.
Responsibilities
- Rolls reel into jack, removes reels from payoff, and reloads reel or basket.
- Welds wire ends together to feed machine.
- Applies insulation and monitors machine process.
- Stops reel when full, changes it out, and monitors processes and controls to ensure quality.
- Maintains accurate inspection logs and reel labels.
- Sets up ovens and runs wire through machines.
- Uses and reads micrometers to measure wire, completes paperwork, records, and enters data.
- Places completed reel in designated location and communicates with supervisors and associates.
- Maintains cleanliness of work area.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Entry-level experience.
Skills
- Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
- Ability to follow plant work rules, work instructions, safety rules, and established processes, procedures, and practices.
- Ability to use tools including wire cutters, pliers, wrenches, hammer, micrometers, and computer.
- Computer literate.
