Enamel Wire Operator

About the Role

The Enamel Wire Operator uses machines to apply enamel insulation to wires according to manufacturer specifications and customer product orders.

Responsibilities

• Rolls reel into jack, removes reels from payoff, and reloads reel or basket.
• Welds wire ends together to feed machine.
• Applies insulation and monitors machine process.
• Stops reel when full, changes it out, and monitors processes and controls to ensure quality.
• Maintains accurate inspection logs and reel labels.
• Sets up ovens and runs wire through machines.
• Uses and reads micrometers to measure wire, completes paperwork, records, and enters data.
• Places completed reel in designated location and communicates with supervisors and associates.
• Maintains cleanliness of work area.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Entry-level experience.

Skills

• Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
• Ability to follow plant work rules, work instructions, safety rules, and established processes, procedures, and practices.
• Ability to use tools including wire cutters, pliers, wrenches, hammer, micrometers, and computer.
• Computer literate.
