About the role
Bradbury House is a purpose-built children's home providing overnight short breaks for children with disabilities. The home aims to create a safe, nurturing, caring, and fun environment for children and young people aged 0-17 years old. The Residential Support Worker plays a vital role in the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring high-quality care and support for the people we support.
Responsibilities
- To provide a high standard of daily care to the children and young people we support
- To create a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for children and young people to grow and develop, ensuring their wellbeing through personalized care, guidance, and advocacy
- To provide short break support to children and young people with disabilities, consistent with regulatory requirements and agreed policies and procedures
- To work inline with Shaftesbury’s core values
Requirements
- Or Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent
- Passion for delivering outstanding, child-centered care
- Commitment to our values and making a difference
- Clear English writing skills
- Good communication skills
- Basic computer and technology skills
- Experience of working in a care setting or of working with children with disabilities

Pay
Salary is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
The role operates 5 nights per week, Wednesday to Sunday, all year round. Shift patterns vary based on the week and include:
- Day shifts: 7am – 11AM, 12pm – 10pm and 2pm – 10pm Wed, Thursday and Friday
- Sleep over: 10pm – 7am
- Waking Nights: 9:30pm – 7:30am
- During weekends and school holidays shift patterns include:
- Day shifts: 7am – 2.30pm, and 2pm – 10pm
- Sleep over: 10pm – 7am
- Waking Nights: 9:30pm – 7:30am
