About the Role

As our EMT, you will perform essential general patient care, meticulously following established clinic workflows to ensure efficient and high-quality service delivery within an outpatient setting. You will support clinical operations by managing intake processes, maintaining a clean and stocked environment, and proactively addressing patient concerns to deliver exceptional experiences.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive patient intake duties, including obtaining vital signs, verifying allergies and medications, and documenting reasons for visits.
• Collect and prepare specimens (blood, tissue, sputum, etc.), including phlebotomy, and ensure appropriate consent forms are obtained.
• Administer ordered medications and vaccines within the scope of practice.
• Clean and sterilize instruments, ensure exam room readiness, and complete safety checklists.
• Escalate non-routine issues promptly and support healthcare providers with exams, treatments, and procedures.
• Demonstrate a professional attitude while ensuring confidentiality of patient and organizational information.
• Function within the scope of practice of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) as defined by state regulations, including driving the ambulance when needed.
• Follow ambulance driving policies, standard operating guidelines (SOGs), and patient care protocols.
• Provide patient care procedures, including wound cleansing and dressing, immobilization, and re-assessment of patient condition.
• Administer medications under medical direction and perform BLS interventions, including automatic cardiac defibrillation.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED (General Studies), upon hire.
• Graduate of a State-approved EMT training program, upon hire.
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification in Iowa, upon hire.
• Limited Radiologic Technologist certification in Iowa, within 24 months.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - CPR certification, upon hire.

Preferred: EMS experience.

Pay

$17.24 - $24.35 per hour.
