About the role

Medcor is hiring an Onsite Health Technician to work in an occupational health clinic setting in Buffalo, NY. This clinic operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The shifts are eight hours each for either first, second, or third shift on a part-time basis. The role involves collaborative work with medical and operational leadership at Medcor, local medical providers, client staff, and key contacts within the client’s corporate structure.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily operations at Medcor’s on-site clinic
• Provide superior customer service to Medcor’s client and employees
• Assessment and treatment of workplace injuries and illnesses according to Medcor’s Evidence Based Medicine protocols (Medcor Care Protocols - MCPs)
• Build and maintain internal team relationships
• Support for onsite employee health and wellness efforts
• Pre-employment and post-offer screenings
• Documentation of care using state-of-the-art EMR and other tools
• Physical Assessment Testing (PATs)
• Case management, including ongoing workers’ compensation case management and Return to Work (RTW) program facilitation
• Medical charting and OSHA record-keeping
• Treatment plan monitoring
• Work closely with outside medical providers
• Support the site security team functions and activities, including:
  • Observing safety and security procedures
  • Reporting potentially unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel
  • Monitoring CCTV and all alarm systems
  • Providing visitor passes and enforcing visitor and access control procedures

Requirements

• Valid licensure for the position (EMT)
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Strong computer and technology skills (navigate cell phones, texting, fax machines, etc.)
• Familiarity with EMR software
• Physical ability to lift a 50lb emergency response bag
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Positive and outgoing personality
• Passion for people and providing the best care possible
• Willingness to go above and beyond

Preferred Qualifications

• Comfortable working in a worksite clinic industrial environment
• Relevant occupational health experience
• Experience in emergency medicine or critical care
