About the role
Medcor is hiring an Onsite Health Technician to work in an occupational health clinic setting in Buffalo, NY. This clinic operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The shifts are eight hours each for either first, second, or third shift on a part-time basis. The role involves collaborative work with medical and operational leadership at Medcor, local medical providers, client staff, and key contacts within the client’s corporate structure.
Responsibilities
- Participate in daily operations at Medcor’s on-site clinic
- Provide superior customer service to Medcor’s client and employees
- Assessment and treatment of workplace injuries and illnesses according to Medcor’s Evidence Based Medicine protocols (Medcor Care Protocols - MCPs)
- Build and maintain internal team relationships
- Support for onsite employee health and wellness efforts
- Pre-employment and post-offer screenings
- Documentation of care using state-of-the-art EMR and other tools
- Physical Assessment Testing (PATs)
- Case management, including ongoing workers’ compensation case management and Return to Work (RTW) program facilitation
- Medical charting and OSHA record-keeping
- Treatment plan monitoring
- Work closely with outside medical providers
- Support the site security team functions and activities, including:
- Observing safety and security procedures
- Reporting potentially unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel
- Monitoring CCTV and all alarm systems
- Providing visitor passes and enforcing visitor and access control procedures
Requirements
- Valid licensure for the position (EMT)
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Strong computer and technology skills (navigate cell phones, texting, fax machines, etc.)
- Familiarity with EMR software
- Physical ability to lift a 50lb emergency response bag
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Positive and outgoing personality

Preferred Qualifications
- Comfortable working in a worksite clinic industrial environment
- Relevant occupational health experience
- Experience in emergency medicine or critical care
