EMT Intermediate

Responsibilities

• Provide an assessment of patients, determine necessary care, and deliver emergency services.
• Document patient information, condition and treatment while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
• Operate an ambulance in accordance with company safety policies and traffic laws.
• Communicate effectively with patients, other healthcare professionals, and public safety personnel.
• Use appropriate EMT skills to provide care including communications, medical equipment, cleaning procedures, and office equipment.
• Work collaboratively and professionally with all allied health and public safety personnel.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• State EMT Intermediate certification.
• CPR/BLS certifications.
• Pass a physical agility test.

Qualifications

Must have a valid state driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company policy.

Skills

Effective communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and proficiency in using medical equipment and ambulatory vehicles.
