EMT - Emergency Medical Technician

About the role

The EMT responds to emergencies and treats employees that have been injured or are ill due to work-related incidents in designated facility. Supports the Health and Safety (HandS) Department to effectively identify, treat, investigate, and prevent occupational injuries and illnesses. Provides first responder training (AED, CPR, First Aid, etc.) per protocol. Manages daily support activities within a location.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency medical care to injured or ill persons
• Function within the scope of medical care as defined by protocol and state, regional, and local regulatory agencies
• Follow medical protocols and Company procedures
• Prepare documentation and reports accurately and timely and maintain records (Injury treatment documentation, Employee Files, Incident Investigation Files, etc.)
• Train first responders as needed and provide support and guidance to first responders
• Coordinate and run audiometric testing requirements
• Ensure regulatory compliance
• Assist with HandS compliance audits
• Assist with incident investigations and required documentation
• Assist with post-incident case management
• Perform post-accident or reasonable cause drug and alcohol testing as needed
• Assist the Worker's Compensation Administrator as required
• Maintain confidential information
• Continue to expand knowledge base of basic medical/legal principles
• Ensure personal well-being
• Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• State EMT Certification required

• Strong knowledge of fundamental medical treatment concepts, practices and procedures as well as compliance requirements
• Positive, professional attitude, handling difficult customers with ability to diffuse negative situations
• Working knowledge of MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and database applications
• Proficient documentation skills

Pay

$22.18 per hour
