EMT Basic

Responsibilities

• Provide an assessment of patients, determine necessary care and deliver emergency services.
• Document patient information, condition and treatment while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
• Operate an ambulance in accordance with company safety policies and traffic laws.
• Communicate effectively with patients, other healthcare professionals, and public safety personnel.
• Use appropriate medical equipment and follow cleaning procedures.
• Work collaboratively with fellow EMTs and allied health professionals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• State Driver’s License.
• National or State EMT certification.
• CPR/BLS certifications.
• Pass a physical agility test.
• Driving record in compliance with company policy.
• Some work experience in healthcare preferred, but not required.

Qualifications

Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) must have a strong commitment to patient care and a willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. They should also possess excellent communication skills and the ability to handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently.

Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping.
