Responsibilities

• Communicates delays and updates to dispatch and reports any damage or vehicle issues to the supervisor immediately.
• Adheres to department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensures patient documentation is accurate, complete, and in compliance at all times.
• Communicates findings and patient conditions to aligned registered nurses, paramedics, and personnel.
• Assists crew with set up and preparation of ventilator, cardiac monitor, IV line, and pumps.
• Responsible for charting documentation and patient care with BLS patients.
• Provides receiving staff with a full patient report.
• Maintains equipment between transports and keeps the unit in a constant state of readiness.
• Operates emergency vehicles safely in various weather and emergent conditions according to established safety standards.
• Utilizes appropriate medical equipment and comprehends injury/medical severity.

Requirements

• Ability to clearly communicate patient conditions, status, and arrival times with medical care facilities that receive patients.
• Ability to analyze and assess data, techniques, methodology, equipment operations, and quality control to ensure that information is obtained and presented accurately.
• Ability to determine life threatening conditions.
• Provides appropriate emergency care and transports the patient, when necessary.
• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a health-related field.
• Graduated from an EMT program.
• 1+ year of experience in emergency vehicle operations.
• 2+ years of technical experience.
• Ambulance transport experience.

Pay

• $20.38 - $32.60 per hour.

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS).
• Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT).
• OR EMT-Advanced (EMT-A).
• Driver's License (DL).
• Commercial Drivers License (CDL).
• Commercial Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO).
• Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC).

Background Screening Requirement

Certain positions are subject to Florida Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting, as required by state law.
